Amenities: fishing off the pier/dam or by kayak/canoe, paved trail loop (5 loops = 1 mile), covered picnic area, strategic benches.

Notes: the views were tranquil and beautiful. we loved walking the paved trail and enjoy the views immensely.

Lake Luke Marion

Amenities: Lake Luke Marion is stocked lake with a pier. No swimming is allowed. 1/3 mile tree lined trail around the lake. Picnic tables.

Notes: no swimming allowed. Lake Luke Marion is located near the Mo. Co. Health Department building. There are a lot of geese and the expected goose poo. Some of the trail was soggy so be careful when it rains.

Notes: walking trails with activities for kids. Carthage History Museum is located next door. It is open on Sunday's from 2 - 5 p.m.

Nick's Creek Greenway

Notes: A nice 3.5 mile out and back trail (for a total of 7 miles). It would make a great biking trail.

Amenities:  two picnic shelters with charcoal grills, children and adult play and game areas, bathroom facilities and a 1 mile walking trail.

Notes: I had no cell reception the entire time I was here. There are 3 loops. If you keep going right you will complete all 3 loops together to make a mile.
